Commercial Refrigeration Made Easy with Refrigerating Equipments

When it comes to refrigeration requirement in the agriculture industry, Refrigerating equipments serve as essential components! It is required to preserve the freshness of food and ingredient. Refrigeration is also required to ensure the level of hygiene is maintained for consumption.
Various refrigeration and cooling equipment are used in food processing, storing, distributing at various facilities. These include convenience stores, supermarkets, hotels, food chains or restaurants. Commercial refrigeration serves as one of the most significant areas of any restaurant.

Types of Refrigeration Equipment:-

There are different types of refrigeration equipment used for commercial establishments. Here we will cover the two major ones.

Blast Chillers

These are the most common types of refrigerators which are extensively used in commercial venues. They are basically used for lowering the temperature of food besides freezing food fast. Most chillers take around ninety minutes to lower food temperatures. The chiller is particularly designed to comply with the standards of food handling and safety. A wide variety of blast chillers is available with various features that aid your business in the food industry.

Display Freezers

Such types of refrigerators are usually found in a grocery store. These are used for storing beverages as well as food items. They offer the facility of see-through doors that enable customers to view the items kept in them easily. These kinds of display refrigerators generally do not have doors. The food items placed in these refrigerators are handy and users can quickly pick them. These are convenient for use and therefore, largely used in food stores.

Meeting the Commercial Refrigeration Demands:-

Other refrigeration equipment includes a chiller, milk cooler and refrigeration plants to meet the diversified needs of varied industries. These include ammonia based refrigeration plant as well as Freon refrigeration plant. The plants use liquid, gas and mechanical energy which helps in moving heat across the place. A liquid like ammonia is enabled to pass into a space using tubing. It features a low boiling temperature and as the pressure in the ammonia starts dropping, the liquid starts boiling. It then enters a phase changing from liquid to gas. In the process, a great absorption of heat energy by the liquid in the tubing happens which leads to change the phase. This energy is then absorbed from the space and then forms a gas.

These kinds of refrigeration equipment are largely used in water chilling plant, cold storage, ice plant or deep freezing chamber. It comes under the category of commercial refrigeration which plays an important role in various establishments. They help these places keep supplies or products at optimal conditions which support their business widely. For instance, the food industry cannot do without this equipment. They use the equipment to store perishable products which in turn helps them to maintain freshness. Another important usage is in the pharmaceutical industry where it needs to keep certain medicines and vaccines at the required temperature.

These equipments can be hired or bought depending on the duration of your equipment. Once the need is identified, you can request for ammonia based refrigeration services or buy equipment.

Importance of Air Washer Systems

Equipment that scrubs air to improvise the air quality in the surroundings is called as Air Washer System. This system controls the climate and the quality of the environmental air. The right equipment will be selected as an under powered device to maintain itself with the air flow and the equipment's that will fail due to overloading.

It works by removing the humidity out of the air by ventilation after reaching till the dew point after being passed over chilled water. Along with humidity, the dust and dirt will also get precipitated from the machine. Once the air gets out of the machine it is much drier and cooler which is more appropriate for inhalation as it is free from any particulate matter.

However, if the surrounding atmosphere already has dry air then it is the air washer that increases the humidity of the air. A fan is not enough to draw air over cool water to introduce humidity in the environment. Extra features will be added in the design of the air washer system to purify the air.

The load on air washers will be reduced by pre-filtering and designing to maintain the level of temperature and humidity on its own. The energy on performance standards should be cut down. In general, air washers have different parts in its system that is spray nozzles, eliminator section as well as a sump.

Spray section will bestows water droplets to the air or may remove them from air along with the solid particles whereas eliminator section is ‘W’ in shape that plays a major role in removal of moisture and air particulates. In addition, Sump collects solids, lint, dust, and water in its basin.

The Air Washer Systems collectively performs various functions such as cooling, humidification, dehumidification, cleaning of air particles and hyper-ionization of air.

The accomplishment of humidification is done by spray water re circulation, washing pre-heated air and heating spray water. The inside air gets humidified if the outside air is saturated with moisture. The low humidity air attracts moisture and releases the washed air from the system.

The necessity of humidification is to condition the operation of the plant. The air washer functions as a cooling tower as the water inside will cycle up solids in the same way as done in the cooling tower.

A dehumidifier will remove water from the air and generally occurs naturally in late Spring, Summer and very early Autumn. The level of solids will be dropped once dehumidification starts. Since the water level reaches an overflow stage hence to remove this surplus of water from the Air washer.

Cold Storage Manufacturers

A peculiar room maintained at a very low temperature through proper mechanization and precision instruments is known as Cold Storage. It is used to preserve various types of fruits like apples, grapes, oranges and different kinds of vegetables like potatoes, chillies, ginger, etc. for a long duration. Facilities for cold storage play a prime role in enhancing the shelf life of perishable commodities.

The main role of cold storage comes into play in stabilizing the market and even distribution both on demand basis and time basis. Through cold storage the farmers get opportunity for cash crop production on lucrative prices. With a minimal price fluctuation consumers are able to buy expensive materials like essences and processed foods like fruit juice and dairy concentrates with dry fruits, chemicals, frozen foods are being stored in cold storages to govern the distribution channels of these items.

The benefits of cold storage can be listed as extending the shelf life, period of marketing, avoiding glut, reducing transport bottlenecks during peak period of production and maintenance of quality of produce. This is how it plays an important role in reducing the wastage of perishable commodities and wastage reduction on remunerative prices.

The Manufacturers Of Cold Storage depend on the availability of refrigerant for the smooth operation of cold storage. Easy reach of refrigerants like Freon and Ammonia is making them popular in the market. Although Ammonia has its own characteristics to act as a refrigerant, that is, it is cheaper, easily available and is of high latent heat of evaporation but also highly toxic in nature.

Temperature variation between rooms can be overcome by insulation and should be under moisture protection. For fixing the insulation, the surface should be even, free of lump or a complete plaster. Care should be taken for moisture penetration through the wall, ceiling or floor.

Air Washer Systems – An efficient means of cooling

Air Washer Systems work on the principle of cooling outside air through water-saturated pads after which water gets evaporated in the air lowering down its temperature. The cool air gets replaced with warm air through the vents given in the system.

The cross-section of these water-saturated pads should be corrugated for the maximal mixing of water and air to prevent their easy segregation once they blend with each other. Vents should always be kept open for the exchange of these two types of air.

Air Washer Systems work in contrast with Central air-conditioning system that re-circulates the same air whereas the coolers in Air Washer systems maintain a fresh air in the required space.

Basically, the idea is to adjust the humidity levels of the air surrounding the equipment. However, it is very important to select the right equipment, as an underpowered device will not be able to handle the air flow and if the instrument is not designed to keep up with high levels of particulates then it might collapse due to overloading.

The Air Washer Systems are mostly used in low humid areas where dry air persists. It works to release humidity from the air as it reaches the dew point. Furthermore, the unwanted particles in the air will also move out in circulation. A fan can also be simply used for this purpose but an extra feature of filtration in these systems makes them more versatile and multitasking systems.

These devices can be timed and additional feature of performance specifications will help cut short the energy usage by these systems. For an efficient performance, the air washers should be compact and rigid. The blowers also need to be balanced dynamically on anti-vibration pad.

The enclosure of the air-washers can either be masonry or steel and other metals. The air washer systems are equipped with spray nozzles which are generally made up of steel pipes. The entire process of cooling air through air-washer systems is known as evaporative cooling.

This can be explained by taking a simple example of how our body regulates temperature. Just as, while perspiration, the sweat produced by our body takes the heat away from our body, similarly, when the dry air will pass over water, it will absorb moisture from that and become humid.

When the water droplets get broken at the nozzles, it ionizes, due to which it attains a charge for attracting particles in the air. This will aid in filtering out the impurities from the air. This process also charges the air that can build up static electricity in the same that can cause processing problems in textiles which can be sorted out by an anti-stat treatment program.

For a smooth and uninterrupted functioning of air washer systems, these systems need to be maintained rigorously. A process of preventive maintenance is required to be followed along with the use of chemical treatment. This can excessively reduce the man-hours to clean-up the equipment as well as the down time to make it ready for further processing.
